The Human Impacts Institute (HII) is accepting applications for its 2026 Internship Program, a hands-on learning opportunity designed for young people passionate about climate justice, environmental action, creative communication, and social impact work.
The internship gives participants real experience working with a global environmental organization that uses arts, storytelling, education, and community engagement to drive climate awareness and action. Interns become part of the HII team (“HII Crew”) and contribute directly to program design, outreach, research, and implementation.
This is a practical, skills-building internship ideal for students, graduates, and emerging professionals interested in climate work, NGOs, and creative environmental communication.
Remote + in-person options available in New York City and Marseille)
Internship Areas
HII offers internships in the following tracks:
Global Leadership
- Support international exhibitions and climate events
- Assist with outreach and partnership development
- Conduct research and support proposal writing
- Help with event planning and coordination
Creative Communications
- Develop communication materials and campaigns
- Support marketing, storytelling, and digital outreach
- Work with tools like Canva, video editing, and design platforms
Environmental Education
- Support curriculum development and educational programmes
- Assist in workshop coordination and facilitation
- Engage in community outreach and climate education
NGO Management
- Support grant writing and fundraising proposals
- Assist with donor communications and sponsorship development
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation systems
Eligibility
Applicants should:
