2026 Calls for Proposals – Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator
The Climate & Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) has opened its 2026 Calls for Proposals under the Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator, a new initiative designed to help governments in Official Development Assistance (ODA)-eligible countries achieve major reductions in super pollutants such as methane, black carbon, and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
Super pollutants are powerful climate pollutants that contribute significantly to near-term global warming while also affecting air quality, public health, food security, and economies. The new Accelerator aims to help countries move from climate commitments to practical implementation by supporting coordinated action across multiple sectors.
The 2026 call is seeking organisations and technical implementers to deliver projects supporting five countries in their efforts to reduce super pollutant emissions and strengthen national systems for climate and clean air action.

🎯 About the Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator
The Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator is a new three-year programme launched by the CCAC to help governments accelerate deep and sustained reductions in super pollutant emissions.
The programme aims to support up to 30 countries by 2030 and mobilise an estimated USD 150 million in grant funding and complementary finance from development partners.
The Accelerator supports countries by helping them coordinate national action and implement technical projects across multiple sectors, including agriculture, waste, household energy, and national climate and clean-air planning.
The first cohort of countries includes Brazil, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nigeria, and South Africa. The 2026 calls, however, seek implementers for projects in Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and South Africa.

🇰🇿 Kazakhstan – Agriculture
Development of Policies, Transparency Systems, and Investment-Ready Pipeline to Reduce Methane from the Agricultural Sector
The project will support efforts to reduce methane emissions from agriculture by strengthening policies, transparency systems, and the development of investment-ready mitigation projects.
🇲🇽 Mexico – Agriculture
Low-Emission Agriculture and Livestock Production
This project focuses on supporting low-emission agricultural and livestock practices that can reduce super pollutant emissions while contributing to more sustainable food production.
🇰🇭 Cambodia – Household Energy
Scaling Up Electric Cooking in Cambodia
The project aims to accelerate the transition toward electric cooking, helping reduce emissions from household energy use while supporting cleaner and healthier cooking solutions.
🇮🇩 Indonesia – National Policy and Planning
Integrated MRV and Super-Pollutant Governance
This project will support Indonesia in strengthening systems for measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) and improving governance related to super pollutant emissions.
🇿🇦 South Africa – National Policy and Planning
National SLCP Planning, Monitoring and Reporting System
The project will support the development and strengthening of national systems for planning, monitoring, and reporting on short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs).
🇰🇭 Cambodia – Waste
Accelerating Actions to Improve Organic Waste Management
The project will support improvements in organic waste management to reduce emissions and promote more sustainable waste practices.
🇮🇩 Indonesia – Waste
Waste Methane Mitigation and Circular Economy
This project focuses on reducing methane emissions from the waste sector while promoting circular economy approaches and improved resource management.
🇿🇦 South Africa – Waste
Waste Methane Mitigation and Circular Economy Scale-Up
The project aims to scale up approaches that reduce methane emissions from waste while advancing circular economy solutions.

The call is seeking organisations capable of providing technical assistance and implementing specific projects under the Super Pollutant Country Action Accelerator.

Funding
