African Commonwealth Students’ Convention is a continental gathering uniting students across the Commonwealth to shape Africa’s future through education, innovation, science, and technology. Under the theme “Unleashing the African Dream”, the Convention empowers young leaders to influence policy, drive innovation, and lead Africa’s transformation within the global Commonwealth.
If you’re passionate about leadership, impact, policy, and Africa’s future — this is for you.
Africa’s next generation of leaders is being called to converge. The African Commonwealth Students’ Convention (ACSC) 2026 is a continental gathering bringing together students from across Commonwealth nations in Africa to engage in dialogue and action around education, innovation, science, technology, and youth-led transformation. Scheduled for April 12–16, 2026, in Uganda, this is the platform where student voices, bold ideas, and cross-border networks come together to shape Africa’s future.
Under the 2026 theme “Unleashing the African Dream,” the Convention seeks to mobilize young leaders who are passionate about shaping Africa’s future through policy engagement, collaboration, and practical solutions — serving as a platform for students to exchange ideas, strengthen networks, and contribute meaningfully to Africa’s development within the global Commonwealth framework.
The ACSC 2026 is currently open for volunteers to support the Convention across key teams. Selected volunteers will contribute across the following areas:
Content & Social Media Volunteers in this team will help shape the Convention’s digital presence — crafting compelling content, managing live coverage, and amplifying the voices and ideas emerging from the event to a wider African and global audience.
Protocol & Guest Relations This team ensures that dignitaries, speakers, and delegates are received with excellence and professionalism, playing a critical role in shaping the tone and impression of the Convention from the moment guests arrive.
Logistics & Operations The engine room of the event — volunteers here handle the behind-the-scenes coordination that keeps everything running smoothly, from venue setup to session transitions and material distribution.
Welfare & Participant Support This team prioritizes the comfort, safety, and overall well-being of all Convention participants, ensuring that every student feels welcomed, supported, and valued throughout the five days.
Documentation & Reporting Volunteers in this team capture the Convention’s key outcomes, discussions, and highlights — producing a lasting record of the ideas and commitments generated that can inform future advocacy and policy work.
The opportunity is open to students and young changemakers who demonstrate a strong interest in leadership, innovation, and youth development; are committed and available during the Convention dates; possess relevant skills aligned with at least one of the volunteer roles; and are willing to serve on a non-paid basis as no financial compensation is attached. Submission of an application does not automatically guarantee selection. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
The ACSC is more than a student event — it is a living proof that African youth are ready to lead. By convening students from Commonwealth nations across the continent, the Convention builds the kind of cross-border solidarity, shared knowledge, and collective ambition that Africa’s development demands. As a volunteer, you don’t just support the event — you become part of the movement.
