Applications are now open for the Climate Resilience Awards for Business 2026, a global awards programme launched by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in partnership with the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP).
Following a successful inaugural edition in 2025, the awards return to recognize businesses that are implementing innovative and measurable climate resilience and adaptation solutions. The initiative celebrates organizations that are helping communities, value chains, infrastructure, and ecosystems become more resilient to climate change while inspiring others through practical, scalable solutions.
About the Awards
The Climate Resilience Awards for Business recognize organizations that are demonstrating leadership by implementing real-world climate resilience initiatives with measurable impact.
The awards aim to:
- Recognize outstanding business leadership in climate resilience.
- Showcase innovative and scalable resilience solutions.
- Highlight measurable climate adaptation outcomes.
- Share best practices and case studies with global audiences.
- Strengthen the business case for investing in resilience.
- Accelerate climate adaptation across sectors and regions.
Award Categories
Organizations can submit projects under one of four categories:
Building Climate-Proof Infrastructure
Projects that improve the resilience of buildings, energy systems, transport networks, industrial facilities, and other critical infrastructure against climate-related hazards.
Promoting Water Stewardship
Initiatives that strengthen water security by addressing drought, flooding, water scarcity, or improving sustainable water management.
Safeguarding Agriculture & Food Systems
Projects that build resilience throughout agricultural production, food processing, storage, logistics, and supply chains to enhance food security.
Protecting People First
Initiatives that improve the resilience of workers, communities, customers, and value-chain partners to climate impacts.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to business organizations of all sizes, sectors, and geographic locations, including:
- Large corporations
- Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)
- Private companies
- Social enterprises
- Businesses providing resilience solutions
Both of the following applicant types are eligible:
- Resilience & Adaptation Implementers – organizations improving the resilience of their own operations, assets, infrastructure, workforce, or value chains.
- Resilience Solution Providers – organizations offering products, services, technologies, financing, or advisory solutions that help clients become more resilient to climate change.
SMEs and large companies are evaluated separately to ensure fair competition. There is no application fee.
