The K4GGWA Innovation Facility is looking for practical tools, implements, and simple machines that can help restore degraded land across Great Green Wall countries.
We are seeking innovations that support farmers, pastoralists, and restoration practitioners in improving land productivity, restoring ecosystems, and building resilience. Eligible solutions may be hand-operated, animal-drawn, or tractor-mounted.
What types of innovations are we looking for?
Your innovation should help address one or more land restoration challenges, including:
- Land preparation and planting
- Soil health improvement and carbon retention
- Water harvesting and conservation
- Erosion control and soil conservation
- Vegetation establishment and restoration
- Labour reduction and productivity enhancement
Examples include:
- Tools for ploughing, digging trenches, and preparing planting holes
- Equipment for water harvesting, contour marking, and erosion control
- Labour-saving devices that reduce physical effort and save time
- Technologies that improve soil fertility and support carbon sequestration
- Any practical tool or device that contributes to land restoration and landscape resilience
