The Vanier Institute of the Family provides conference funding to master’s and doctoral students, as well as postdoctoral fellows, to support their participation in family science knowledge exchange.
The funding is open to doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows whose research is related to family diversities and wellbeing in Canada. Applicants must be presenting whether via a presentation, poster, roundtable, or as a breakout discussion facilitator at the conference, or participating in a workshop or course. Notably, the event does not need to have a family-specific focus, in order to encourage knowledge exchange among wider audiences.
How Much Funding Is Offered
The Vanier Institute offers doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows up to $750 to present at conferences or attend workshops and courses.
What Costs Are Covered
The funds are intended to help support costs of travel, accommodations, meals, and conference/workshop/course registrations.
Application & Notification Process
The Vanier Institute will do their best to notify successful applicants within 10 business days of receipt of their application, and a confirmation email will be sent once the application is received.
