Scaling Climate Finance is a 7-hour, self-paced online course offered through One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC). The course is designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of climate finance and the different ways public, private and innovative sources of finance can be mobilised to support climate action.
The course explores how climate finance can support both climate change mitigation and adaptation, while also considering gender equality and social inclusion in climate finance planning, budgeting and decision-making.
UN CC is a United Nations-led learning partnership that supports climate change learning and literacy. Its stated focus is to equip people with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions, take action and respond to the climate crisis.
The course is developed with contributions from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and UNDP’s Asia-Pacific Climate Finance Network (CFN). UNITAR provides learning solutions that support global decision-making and country-level action.

The course materials include examples from the Asia-Pacific region, but the tools and approaches are intended to be relevant to participants from all regions worldwide.
Participants who achieve at least 70% on all quizzes qualify for a UN digital certificate of completion. Each quiz allows up to three attempts.
The course itself is free, but obtaining the digital certificate requires a USD 30 payment after successfully completing the quizzes.
