The climate crisis demands more than awareness it demands youth who can lead, communicate, fundraise, and build. The Climate Catalysts Mentorship Programme 3.0 is a hands-on mentorship initiative brought to you by UN Climate Change’s Youth4Capacity programme and UNDP’s Youth4Climate initiative, supported by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security designed to help young climate leaders transform ideas into concrete actions at both local and global levels. Now in its third edition, this is one of the most accessible UN-backed climate capacity-building programmes available to youth globally — entirely free, fully online, and open to all.
As a cohort member, you will develop critical skills in project management, leadership, resource mobilization, communications, and inclusive activism collaborating with other passionate youth, learning from experts in the climate field, and gaining the tools to drive meaningful climate action.
Selected participants may also have the opportunity to attend COP31 and pitch their project or solution on an international stage. Participants who successfully complete the programme receive a certificate of participation a recognised credential from two of the world’s leading UN bodies on climate action.
The programme combines three online bootcamps across the thematic areas of: Entertainment and Culture-Based Climate Solutions; Funding Your Climate Project — From Vision to Action; and Green Skills for a Green Future.
Entertainment & Culture-Based Climate Solutions — This bootcamp equips youth with skills to harness arts, culture, and storytelling for climate advocacy. Participants explore how creative industries drive community mobilisation, policy influence, and global climate narratives with key focus areas including storytelling for impact, artivism, and preserving cultural heritage as a tool for climate justice.
Funding Your Climate Project — From Vision to Action — This bootcamp provides practical skills for securing funding for climate projects through the art and science of resource mobilisation breaking down the fundamentals of fundraising, including budgeting, proposal development, and donor engagement, with actionable tools to attract funding and bring climate solutions to life.
Green Skills for a Green Future — This bootcamp provides youth with practical skills in green technologies, sustainable solutions, digital innovation, and leadership for the green transition.
Each bootcamp spans one month, with 3–4 interactive and immersive online sessions per week. Scholarship Roar Beyond the sessions, participants engage in peer-to-peer channels and virtual Climate Cafés — a great way to connect with other participants across multiple forms of communication, share project ideas, and broaden your understanding of the climate topics covered.
Important prerequisite: To participate in the mentorship programme and webinars, you must sign up separately and complete the required “Becoming a Climate Champion” prerequisite e-course — a self-paced online course that introduces key concepts in climate action Only participants who complete the e-course and submit their certificate will be fully registered and granted bootcamp access.
The programme is open to climate-motivated youth who are passionate about local and global climate action no specific age cap, degree requirement, or nationality restriction is listed. This is a programme for doers and advocates at any stage of their climate journey.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis — register early and complete the prerequisite e-course as soon as possible to secure your spot.
